Electric vehicle charging infrastructure in Belarus is entering a new stage of development. The corresponding resolution of the Council of Ministers was signed by Prime Minister Alexander Turchin.
The resolution provides for updating the program for creating a state-run charging network for electric vehicles, in line with the new version of Presidential Decree No. 92 of 12 March 2020 “On Stimulating the Use of Electric Vehicles.” The program is being brought into compliance with the new version of the decree with regard to designating RUE Beltelecom as the second state operator responsible for installing and maintaining slow charging stations.
Beltelecom is actively involved in the creation of infrastructure, developing its own network of electric charging stations under the Evika! brand.
Sergey Buinitskiy, Deputy General Director for Digital Development and Information Technology of RUE Beltelecom, said
“Our network already includes more than 320 charging stations in 73 sattlements across Belarus. Around 650 electric vehicle owners use the stations daily, and the total customer base has exceeded 53 thousand people. We continue our work and plan to install more than 2,600 new ECS in all regions of the republic by 2030. The network will expand by almost two hundred this year: 193 new slow charging stations will be installed in 63 cities. What's especially important is that Evika! stations will be available in 26 settlements for the first time!”
The Evika! mobile app has been developed for maximum user convenience. Electric car owners can easily find the nearest charging station and navigate to it using the Evika! app and interactive map on the evika.by website.
