On Radio, Television and Communications Workers Day and on the eve of Great Victory Day a flower-laying ceremony was held at the Memorial to the signal corps soldiers by the established tradition. The event represented a deep gratitude and respect to those who were ready to risk their lives in order to ensure communications of a great value during the Great Patriotic War.
The management of the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus headed by Kirill Zalessky, Minister of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus, as well as representatives of industry organizations, teachers and students of Belarusian State Academy of Communications, leaders of trade unions, personnel and veterans of the signal corps participated in the official ceremony.
Aliaksandr Kenda, Director General of RUE Beltelecom, and Andrei Hendzel, Chairman of the primary trade union organization, together with colleagues paid the tribute to the memory and respect to heroes of signal corps by laying flowers at the Memorial.
The performance of the 86th Communications Brigade Orchestra and the presence of the Silent Drill Platoon added a special solemnity to the event.
The heroism of the signal corps soldiers will forever remain in our memory as an unshakable, priceless legacy, passed down from generation to generation. Last year, on the eve of the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War, the enterprise participated in the creation of the Alley of Communications Workers, which became a striking symbol of this great heroism and the continuity of generations.
